How it works
Indlela is one message a day, in a private chat with us. You choose the language, the plan and the hour. Nothing else is required of you.
Say hello on WhatsApp.
Tap the button on this page and the chat opens. Say hello. There is no form to fill in and no app to install.
Choose three things.
Your language: isiZulu, isiXhosa, Afrikaans or English. Your plan: Text, Audio or Prayer-Intent. Your hour: the time each morning you want your reading to arrive.
Read at your hour.
Your reading arrives as one message: a short hook, a verse, a reflection of about 150 to 200 words, and a prayer thought. The reading takes a few quiet minutes.
Change it or stop it whenever you like.
Change your language or your hour in the chat. Pause if you need to step away. Cancel any time, and the cancellation takes effect from your next billing date.
What arrives each morning
Each edition follows the same shape, so you always know where you are in it.
- An opening line to settle you into the day.
- A verse from the King James Version.
- A reflection of about 150 to 200 words, written for the morning you are in.
- A prayer thought to carry with you.
One message, one theme. We do not send a wall of text, and we do not send a stream of messages through the day.
Your language, your hour, your voice
Languages. Every plan delivers in isiZulu, isiXhosa, Afrikaans and English. Change the language in the chat and the next morning's reading arrives in the new one.
Your hour. Pick the time that fits your morning. Most readers take theirs at first light.
Audio. On the Audio and Prayer-Intent plans, the same reading also arrives read aloud, so you can listen on the road. In English you can choose a South African or an International accent, and a male or a female voice. Audio editions for the other languages go live one at a time, as each voice is ready and each reading licence is confirmed. The written reading arrives in every language from the first morning.
A private chat, not a group
Your reading arrives in a private chat between you and Indlela. You are not added to a group, and you are not added to a broadcast list. Nobody else in the chat sees your reading, your language, your hour or anything you send us.
What Indlela is not
Indlela is a for-profit subscription media company, not a church, ministry, NPO or PBO. Your subscription pays for content, not a donation, and is not tax-deductible.
Indlela is not a health service and not a counselling service. Nothing in the reading diagnoses, treats or heals anything. If you need care, please speak to a doctor or a registered practitioner.
We do not promise an outcome. Not a healing, not a breakthrough, not an answered prayer, and not a change in your circumstances. What we promise is a faithful reading, every morning, in your language, sent at the hour you chose.
